Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(Hebrews 12:2)

Most times when we read this verse, we study it from an angle of God’s ability to start and finish something, especially when we are in a waiting phase. Though we are not so far in our assessment of this scripture, this scripture is, however, explicit enough in terms of interpretation.

Christ being the author and finisher of our faith is not a work in progress, but a perfectly sealed and completed job. Our faith in the first place is in the redemptive work of Christ; how he was crucified, died, and resurrected to give us victory over death and sin, therefore making provision for us to have access to the Father and enjoy sonship. So looking up to God from this angle simply means to behold Christ and his finished work and therefore, stand confident in his ability to do all things. It is worthy to note that, the foundation, the core, and the essence of our belief are found in the deliberate effort and intentionality of Christ, in how he perfectly created a model for redemption and victory. It is important for every believer to know that God through one action has provided for everything we need and will ever need, both in life and in death.

Whatever it is you’re facing, look up to Christ and the shared inheritance you have with him, then take hold of your miracle. It is so amazing to know that, He has perfected everything for us through his sacrifice on the cross, this is what the scriptures mean when it says to enter into the throne room of grace to obtain mercy. Christ through his action has given us infinite access to grace, therefore, the only channel we have to obtain mercy is to go in the cloak and the covering of the finished work of Christ.  This would then mean that if you seek anything of the father, you boldly approach him, knowing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; therefore you are entitled to everything God offers to his children.

Christ in you, your hope of glory. You are eternally settled in Christ Jesus, you need to boldly understand your responsibility and approach him confidently, assured of his ability and his love for you. He is indeed the author and the finisher of your faith, the good news is that your faith is not a work in progress, but a finished work. So, please look up to Christ and take hold of your victory, everything you need has been provided for.

Declaration: Christ has graciously perfected everything for me. I look up to him and acknowledge the beauty of his work. I step out confident in faith and rest assured that I am forever settled in Christ, and all I need and will ever need has been provided for.
