Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

(2 Corinthians 5:18)

Understanding mandate would be best related to a relay race when athletes pass down batons to their team members to run along and complete the race. To better understand this would be to relate it to a positional inheritance passed down from an older generation to a younger generation. It is important to note that there is a mantle that has been passed to every one of us who are believers. The destinies of men hang on us, we have been saved to save others.

2Cor.5.20 – Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.  I find it humbling that God committed the Gospel to us, what a Trust! Apostle Paul said in 1Tim.1.12 – And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,- This mandate we have received is the highest honour we can receive, its more than even Nobel peace prize or an Olympic Gold medal. We now see that God is counting on us to deliver on the mandate, he believes so much in us and has no doubt about our ability to deliver on this mandate, why shouldn’t we believe in ourselves? GLORY! WE CANNOT FAIL GOD!

2Cor.5.5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. (KJV). We have the Holy Ghost in us and it’s God that has wrought it in us, this same ability to champion the course of God in this world is already in us. You know there are believers who think we can’t evangelise the world, that more people go to hell that makes heaven, if you have such thoughts, get rid of them. We are More than Conquerors,  our mandate is to reach the whole works with the Gospel, best believe this is our disposition,  we agree with God who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

This mandate is a precious one, see yourself as an integral part of fulfilling this. The scripture lets us know that Christ came to reconcile humanity to God, and he has entrusted that same responsibility to every one of us who believes. It is therefore our duty, to do the father’s bidding here on earth. We have been charged with the responsibility to bring men to God and unite them with our heavenly Father. We have that responsibility to help men discover their true source and heritage in Christ. So that as men come to know Christ and understand the purpose of his sacrifice, they will open up to reunite with the Father and be restored to him.
