So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of GodRomans 10:17
Many times, a lot of believers try to stir up faith by many methods apart from the one thing the Bible says– Faith comes by the word of God! People prioritize getting a new vision, positivism, motivational kits, inspiring stories from other people e.t.c above actually engaging the word of God. Whilst these things are indeed good and beneficial, it is important to understand that only the word will impart faith into your heart. Faith is not of the senses, likewise the Word of God, both are of the Spirit, meaning that the Spirit-inspired Word alone can enliven my Spirit and invigorate it with assurance; for this is what faith is, a divine assurance in God’s ability. Divine because it is a divinely deposited assurance that takes place when the Word comes alive in a man’s spirit. At that point, the assurance is something like “I just know that I know that I know”.
When you deeply meditate and contemplate on God’s word, the word takes a hold of your spirit and impact your physical body; this Is how we build our faith, by the word of God.
Faith is acting on God’s Word. Everyone that acted on the word Jesus spoke to them, received their healing, like the man Jesus said to, “Take up your mat and walk” (John 5:8). Jesus again spoke to ten leprous men (Luke 17:11-19) and by their response to His word they got their healing. Jesus met with tired Peter who had toiled all night but caught no fish and spoke to him to let down his net for a catch, Peter’s remark obviously revealed how Peter and company have no interest in fishing that day again. Peter said ‘At thy Word’ (Luke 5:4-7); meaning he was only acting in response to the Word of Jesus such that even though he (Peter) doesn’t feel any positive about the fishing attempt again, the word of God doesn’t need the validation of feelings all the time to work.
You must believe the word to live out your Victorious life in Christ. Dive into God’s word and discover what the word says about that situation. Then when you believe the word of God enough act on it, in other words, give the corresponding action to it and keep speaking that same word that you’ve received from God, that is how you engage your faith. Keep saying the same thing, don’t stop talking it, that is how you receive what you want to see.
Give heed to God’s word and let it build your faith, God’s word is dependable.
