GOD KNOWS YOU

GOD KNOWS YOU

But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?

Gal. 4:9

We know a lot of people who put great importance on the people they know, they are quick to pull out their phones, take a selfie with every celebrity at an event, they talk so much about the big names they know or have met, the irony, however, is that like most people we know these celebrities but more often than not, they don’t know us. There’s this quote that says “to be close friends with the President, you should be friends before he becomes president”  basically emphasising that many intimate relationships are not basic or peripheral, they hold depth and most importantly must be mutual.

You see, knowing God is great, it’s amazing, it’s something to boast of but you know what’s better? Knowing that God Knows You Too!

Our opening verse expounds and we see Apostle  Paul take a quick turn to emphasise that we are “Known of God”, after initially saying “you have known God”, you need to realise that both statements are very important.  We find believers who believe they know God but have doubts about his disposition towards them, this renders them helpless as this thought flow results in thinking or feeling you’re doing life alone.

Jer.1.5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Eph.2.10 – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Just look at both Scriptures above, this should bring enough reassurance and dispel every doubt, you have about God’s disposition towards you.

God Knows You! This mindset alone is deliverance to low self-esteem, inferiority complex, self-doubt, depression and even mediocrity.

You know that feeling you would have if a person you adore follows you on social media or acknowledges the work you do, I’ve had such experiences and I treasure them but they won’t ever match up to the simple belief I have in me, that I am known of God.

CONFESSION: THANK YOU FATHER FOR I AM KNOWN OF YOU, I REST IN THIS ASSURANCE THAT I AM KNOWN OF YOU AND ALLOW THIS TRUTH TO GAIN ROOT IN ME.
