HE IS RISEN

HE IS RISEN

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

Luke 24.6

The greatest miracle that can ever happen to a man is salvation and salvation came through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, the main reason why we can be called believers today is because of His resurrection. The resurrection is the aspect of the redemptive work that announced the consummation of redemption. We can boldly say we have the God Kind of life because He’s risen. Isn’t this wonderful?

The resurrection day is the day that changed the course of history. When the soldiers crucified Jesus, the people were thinking that would silence Him forever, they didn’t realize that by crucifying Him they would amplify the message, they didn’t know that His resurrection will leave its mark on eternity and in our hearts. Through His resurrection, we received His Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15.14 says “and if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.” We see that Christ rising from the grave is the crux of our Salvation. You must understand that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus have been one truth, the world tries so hard to refute, infact as at the time of Jesus, the lie perpetrated was that his disciples came to steal his body.

In Matthew 28.12-15 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, “Tell them, “His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” So they took the money and did as they were instructed, and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

Can you imagine that the very foundation for our salvation is being called a lie? This is why you must hold fast your confession; you must know what you have believed and stood on it. Heb.10.23 says – Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

This is the confidence we can therefore have as believers who have trusted in Christ for our Salvation,  that He rose from the dead, even so, we can be sure that we also will rise up with him again on the last days. The bible calls him the Firstborn from the dead, 1Cor.15.20 – But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

The one whom we have believed rose from the grave, this is why we can be confident that we also will. No other religion can make such a boast.

The resurrection of Jesus goes beyond being a historical event with proofs of its happenings, to us as believers, it had become the very basis of our Confession and Hope. Jesus is Risen!
