HE WON FOR ME

John.16.33 – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

If you are acquainted with arcade, you will usually notice a particular couple where the husband is so good at all the games, so much so that his sole reason for fighting is basically to win the prizes for his wife. It’s a beautiful gesture right? When most of us watched “Passion of Christ” the sensational movie, we cried, but mostly because of how a good man was being beaten, some of us probably cried more when iron man died. My point here is that, if we fail to see that the sacrifice of being beaten, bruised and even killed, then we have cried in vain and missed the entire point.

Matt.20.28 – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Jesus, the son of the living God, a highly revered miracle worker, a huge following,  the people’s choice to be king, yet he said he had not come to be served but to serve, not just serve but to lay down his life as ransom for many. Jesus declared that His very existence and life purpose was for us. He did it just for us. His every victory was for us.

Col.2.14-15 – having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus paid the price over principalities and power, over sickness , sin ,death and diseases. When Jesus was about to die on the cross, He made a statement which is “it is finished”. Have you ever wondered what that could mean? It means Jesus by his death brought an end to any form of calamity or grief,  the claims of justice where fully satisfied by his sacrifice.

John 16:33 explained how Jesus told His disciples that He has conquered the world for their and our sake, He was crucified for our own freedom. Jesus told His disciple that we can only find peace in Him alone, All the good thing that a man need can be found in Him.

All of these can only be gotten through Christ because He loves us, that He gave His life for us whom He would love to have as sons, For us to be victorious, For us to prevail and for us to reign on this earth. Thus the next time you hear or share about the sacrifice of Jesus,  let the reality that it was all for you dawn on you, let it spur you to take advantage of all that the sacrifice made possible.

As believers, we should walk in this consciousness; that we have been given victory, We must know that we can never be defeated because we have His Spirit and be are powerful just like Him.
