HELP FROM ABOVE

HELP FROM ABOVE

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.”

Psalm‬ ‭121:1-2‬‬

In this present day and time and with occurrences and happenings around the world, people are in constant need of help and are always on the lookout for those who can help them. Most don’t really have a clue of where to and who to look up to for help, while some might think they have someone of great influence or connections, they have been utterly disappointed when they seek help from them because they forget that you cannot put your trust in man; Psalm‬ ‭146:3‬‬ “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, In whom there is no help.” The help of man is limited because man has limitations but the help of God is unlimited because God has no limitations.

We see in Psalm‬ ‭146:5‬‬ that “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God:” whoever has God as his help will always be happy because our God rules above all things and he made all things; John‬ ‭1:3‬‬ “All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Another reason why we seek help from above is that we know that God is the father of lights and is from above James‬ ‭1:17‬‬ “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” There is indeed no variableness with our father, he never changes nor is he wavering, he remains the same and is always true to his words.

He has given us something very potent that we can call when we need help and that is the name of our Lord Jesus, Psalm‬ ‭124:8‬‬ “Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” And we know that this name is a name higher than every other name and the most potent name Philippians‬ ‭2:9-11‬‬ “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Beloved Who and where you look to for help matters a lot, because the basis of your being helped is dependent on the ability of the person you are seeking help, would you seek help from a man with limitations or from the unlimited God? Let your help come from above because he is always ready to help us and ever present in our pressing time of need to provide refuge and strength to us, Psalm‬ ‭46:1‬‬ “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”
