HONOUR CODE

HONOUR CODE

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Hebrews 13:17

There’s a code of conduct or culture that pertains to the household of faith, One of the cultures that must be instilled in a believer is the Culture of honour and Loyalty.

Hebrews 13:7, 17; Those verses of the Bible made it clear that there are some people that have been placed in a position of rulership, They are leaders because they’ve grown from the stage of being babied to watching over the new babies and the bible made it clear that they will give account. When we have leaders, it definitely means we have people who are subordinates or those who respond to authority (those who are been watched over)and the bible gave us an instruction to obey them as our leaders.  It makes sense when you don’t struggle with those who are ahead of you, especially those that have been placed over you in the Lord for the purpose of upbringing.

The closing statement of our opening verses stresses a very important point to note, that our leaders can still rule over us with grief but that will be unprofitable to us, They must do it with joy as much as that is within their power to, the Bible does not live us without a role to play on ensuring they rule over us with Joy. This is very important, Don’t be one to talk down or cause strife in the work of God. You may say well you’ll never do that to the Pastor but when you do such to members of the body and cause them to drawback, you are dishonoured the work of the pastor on the members.

Let the leaders do what they’ve been appointed to do(watching over the followers)and stay in that office till that grace increases. LET EVERY MAN ABIDE IN THEIR CALLING. Don’t despise anyone. Let the head be the head, Imagine the shoulders trying to be in the same position as the head, it is not possible.

BE COMFORTABLE WHEREVER YOU’VE BEEN POSITIONED, DON’T COVET SOMEONE ELSE’S POSITION.

Avoid envy, strife and disorderliness in the local church.

Honour is the conduct of a man who is born again, Honour is also the trait if being devoted and patriotic, not for your own personal gain but for God’s sake.

Confession: I confess that I’m humble enough to obey those that have been placed ahead of me and respect honour them. I’m an honourable member of the Body so I deal honourably with other members of the body in speech, conduct and deeds.
