HONOURABLE REPRESENTATION OF GOD
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.2 Timothy 2:20
To represent a person honorably is not to only physically show the characteristics or properties that will draw respect and reverence to the person being represented, It is to also, from the depth of one’s heart, internally show, that the person who is “representing” also reverences and has great respect in his heart for the person being “represented”
Proceeding further on to verse 22 of the text; “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” -2 Timothy 2:22
Until you have believed In the gospel of Jesus and his finished works, you have not received the righteousness of God, and so that means you cannot represent (by reflecting the character of the holy spirit; faith, Love, peace) in all Its fullness. Believing the gospel of Christ and consciously growing in that light Is what gives us the ability to fully represent God In the most honorable fashion. We as believers are then saddled with the responsibility to ensure that we do not only represent God honourably but to also while doing that, lead many more to him, whom we represent.
Someone said and I agree “if people hate you because of Jesus, that’s expected, but if they hate Jesus because of you, then that’s a problem” we are ambassadors of Christ, we must therefore represent him well.
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth- 2 Timothy 2:24-25
Leading others to the truth while consciously growing is how we become true and honorable representatives of God, taking into detail sound doctrine and Instructions. Studying the word, belonging to a local church, being answerable to a ministry gift that keeps you accountable, and then not just belonging in a local church alone; being part of whatever God Is doing in that church is also an honourable representation of God. If your Father had a house and he asked his children to carry out specific functions, wouldn’t that mean that all his children are expected to be part of that movement, in that what that father cannot physically do, his children are there to do?
2Tim.2.21 – Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
The above scripture is not about works to earn our salvation but rather works of the spirit in us, let’s corroborate with 1Thess.4.4 – that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,

Confession: I have the life of God in me, so I am a carrier of his light, I am a representation of His spirit, and I inspire everything around me to find him. I am a vessel unto honor, I carry an emblem of workmanship. In my daily walk, I lead others to become exactly who Christ wants them to be.
