IMPACT AND INFLUENCE

IMPACT AND INFLUENCE

And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us.

(Titus 2: 7-8)

The greatest lesson I learnt in my formative years was that I am here to make an impact. This thought and notion became clearer and better over the years.  As I find purpose in Christ, I understand where the vision should be channelled through. It just gave me a sense of direction and helped me focus on the things that are important.

If you study through the bible, one thing you would notice is that in every dispensation, God raised men and used them to dominate their world. The trend can be traced as far back, as the time of Abraham. God would have one man, upon whom he has vested so much power, then use the man to display his glory and supremacy. Then after a while, the vision expanded to a Nation, whose inheritance can be traced to that one-man God called. In the same way, in the New Testament God used Jesus Christ as our saviour and used him mightily to mark the beginning of a dispensation for the reconciliation of the entire world. So, all who believe in Christ can be set aside as Children of God and branded for impact and glory. It is God’s plan to glorify all men that come from the lineage of Christ, and believe in God’s beloved son. He has set us all apart and made us recipients of the promise.

Every believer is then called to the consciousness that they are living for a greater purpose. We are brought to the consciousness that God has an expectation for every one of us. He must have chosen us and set us apart for a purpose, right? He is too intentional to do things without purpose. So, as a believer, be clear of this today: God is counting on you to Impact your world. Your world, starts from your immediate environment and expands to your society and further expands to the entirety of humanity. You are not allowed to be careless nor selfish, you are a man of influence; showing men all that is possible with God. You are a torch, that has been made for the purpose of shining on the light of God, your impact should be felt everywhere you enter, you should bring about illumination in every dark spot and dark corner you find yourself. You are God’s instrument of influence, He has chosen to glorify you and use you to impact your world, so, that all men will be reconciled to him.

This is your divine assignment dear believer, shine your light. You have been made specifically for this purpose.
