Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.”Matthew 25:14-15 NIV
Do you know God is committed and faithful to you as a believer? The Bible says; while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Yet till now God hasn’t changed in His attitude toward us. Look at it in the light of this old testament verses in Nehemiah 9:16-19 “But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks and hearkened not to thy commandments, and refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage; but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness and forsookest them not”. You see that now, our God doesn’t forsake, even when He has reasons to. This is the character of our God! And as His people we are to emulate it. We must emulate His character of being faithful, being loyal, even in our service.
Seeing that we have received this much, ought we not to be LOYAL to God, His plan and purpose for our lives, and then His mission on earth?
The Lord likened Himself to a man going abroad and delivering His possession to His stewards, we as the Lord’s stewards, individually and corporately, have been entrusted with His possessions, we were given a gift according to our ability and need to use those gifts in our service to the Lord, been faithful in service to Him in His house. We ought to be Loyal with our service.
Let’s be introspective for a moment and consider our service to God and in our local church, do you think there’s more you can be doing for God? Maybe yes!
When we a man is to come into the Faith, he does not surrender his life to receive the benefit of what Jesus did, but upon coming to the faith to see what has been done, out of allegiance and loyalty, he gives his all.
The Lord did not only save us, we have been saved to serve Him and the riches we enjoy of Him are not only for us to partake of, but also to minister to those in His household, the Church. Hallelujah.
As believers in Christ, we are His stewards and we are given a commission by the Lord at the same time, we are given talents that we may do business for Him and gain profit for Him.
You can be trusted, you can be that one that God counts on, that one that if no one shows up for service, you would be present. Stand up and be numbered! Many times we think that Pastors come to church because they are teaching the sermon, on the contrary, they recognise what their call means, they are therefore Loyal to God who called them and the sheep they watch over. Imitate such! Have a loyal disposition to service.
