MAKE IT PLAIN

MAKE IT PLAIN

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Habakkuk 2:1-2

As the euphoria of the new year begins to wind down, you’d realize that you have a lot of work to do, mostly things you personally committed yourself to do; in simpler terms your ‘new year resolutions’. Before the new year came, you received prophecies for the new year and you set goals, which is beautiful, but what’s more beautiful is seeing those things come to pass.

We commonly interpret the later part of Habakkuk 2:2 as ‘the one running might read it’ but that’s not what it says. Let’s look at it together.

Then the Lord answered me and said,

“Write the vision

And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets

So that the one who reads it will run.

Habakkuk 2:2(Amp)

Reading it is what makes the man run! It says to make the vision plain, so that anyone that reads it will run.

Now let’s go back to the beginning of that verse, it says ‘write down the vision, make it plain upon tables. You’d think that writing it down should automatically mean making it plain, right? But it seems mentioned that writing it is not automatically equivalent to clarity.

Those big goals you have, the big desires the Lord has given you, write it down and make it plain.

How do you make it plain? break them into smaller goals, attach shorter time frames to them and you’d see how achievable they are.

Your desire is to have won a thousand souls to Christ by the end of the year, and you know God will do it but you’re a bit scared, but if you decide to look at it as preaching the word of God to at least 3 people per day, and you think of the number of people you meet in a day or the number of people who follow your social media and you can have conversations with, you’d realize it’s possible. The moment your mind grasps the possibility of that goal, you are more ‘gingered’ to see it come to pass. What’s more? Apart from the release of energy to pursue, now that your eyes can see the possibility of your dreams and vision because you are a believer, the power of God is set into motion! All that God needed first was for your inner eyes to catch the picture of the possibility of that vision, that dream. Once you see the invisible you begin to do the impossible. Once you catch the picture of the possibility of that dream and vision from the invisible realm, the invisible realm is your heart, some kind of supernatural power, yes indeed God’s supernatural power goes into motion.

Another illustration is this, your goal is to have made a million naira in revenue by the end of the year, sounds big, but see it as making 84,000 in a month or 3,000 per day, now that seems possible.

Making it plain, beyond writing things down, is putting them in forms that your mind can grasp or conceive as possible.

One of the ways by which God makes this operation of seeing the vision plainly happen is by the administrative arm of the Spirit called wisdom. Wisdom releases strategy and boy the Holy Ghost is the master of strategies!

Here i was all this while thinking making it plain means writing it down, i have never read it in this light of breaking down the big plans into measurable goals, this is quite insightful. Thank you pastor
