MUZZLE NOT THE OX

MUZZLE NOT THE OX

If I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

1 Timothy 3:15

The scripture above made it clear that there’s a way we ought to behave in the house of God, this, therefore, indicates there’s such a thing as  SPIRITUAL HOME TRAINING. The Church ought not to be confused as an organization without authority, order, and honour even as we are first thought as of the FAMILY of God. 1 Timothy 2:1 also explained that there should be church conduct, There’s an expected way believers should behave in the house of God.

1 Timothy 5:1 Paul gave Timothy the boundaries on how to do things in the church because what doesn’t have boundaries will be abused. The church is a family and the bible gave the model of relationship in the household of faith. Ephesians 4:2-3 explains this too (With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.)  This is what is expected of us to our fellow believers and our Pastors too.

One of the most abused or least understood people in the church are the pastors, the least understood relationship in the church is the relationship between the pastor and member. We know that a lot is expected from the Pastor but at the same time, we shouldn’t be selfish about it. Pastors are kind beings, they will always show up for their people even when things are not right with them, they don’t take offense, they are concerned about our growth and well-being, and they have listening ears. They are GIFTS to us. Eph.4.8 – Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” God’s primary way of gifting any man is still through MEN, more specifically, Our Ministry Gift!

This relationship should be defined in order not to muzzle the ox. Pastors are not there to be used, God placed men over assemblies because there are things that God want to do for His people but He needs delivery men(Pastors), We have a package from God with them.

It is true that Pastors were sent to bless us but stop applying the truth for your own selfish motive, Be considerate.

Pastors are always considered about our well-being and growth but we have people that they’re just interested in taking from the men of God, They are not considerate about the Pastor’s well-being. In fact, Some people still backbite about their pastors which is not right because Pastors are men of God and they gave their selves to the work of the gospel for us. Gid sent them to deliver inheritance to His people.

Respect and honour them.

Confession: I confess that Spirit of God in me influences me to behave the right way to everyone around me and my ministry gift. I Honour my Ministry Gift, loving and helping them in fulfilling of God’s vision committed to them.
