NEWSCASTERS

“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”  They came out of the town and made their way toward him

(John 4:29-30)

Newscasters are news reporters that feed the public with recent information and bring them up-to-date with current happenings going on around them. The difference between a gossiper and a newscaster is that the gossiper spreads information that is not verified, and that it is under a disguise of anonymity. While a newscaster shares verifiable information with the public with all boldness and conviction.

A perfect example of a newscaster in the bible is the Samaritan woman in the anchor scripture above. One major quality of news is that it sparks public attention and interest.

As Believers, we have been tasked with the noble responsibility of sharing the gospel and becoming Christ’s Newscasters. That is what Paul was pointing the Corinthians to in 2 Corinthians 5:18, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation”. Reconciliation here means going and convincing them of what you’ve heard, seen and verified. In a more subtle way, this is God’s way of committing the role of campaign managers to the body. As campaign manager, we have just one duty, which is to convince the public of our candidate’s reputation, goodwill and readiness to serve. Our candidate in this case is Jesus Christ and the news is the gospel. As a member of God’s family, it is our duty to tell the world around us about our conviction in Christ. The same message about the redemptive work of Christ that got us to believe and confess Christ at the point of adoption, is the message we have been tasked to share with the world.

As God’s Newscaster and campaign manager, we are simply meant to showcase Christ to the world and get them to believe in him. If people would believe in Christ, it depends on the way we convince them about this truth that we’ve found. People don’t argue facts, they rarely ever doubt the news they get from media houses, not because they can verify the news but because the newscaster shares the news convincingly. So, dear believer, it is not about “WHAT” you do, the “HOW” also goes a long way as to whether the public would be convinced to believe this good news message we preach.

Take on your duty post brethren, cast the news of Christ’s redemptive work, and be passionate and enthusiastic about men hearing and believing in it.

DECLARATION: I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS. THIS GOSPEL I HAVE HEARD AND I AM CONVINCED ABOUT, I RUN WITH IT. I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT TELLING MEN WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR HUMANITY THROUGH CHRIST, TILL ALL MEN COMES TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR SAVING GOD.

THERE IS LOVE IN SHARING
