POWER OF A PRAYING BELIEVER
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results”.James 5:16
We cannot overemphasise the need for believers to have a prayer life. Don’t treat it like an option, like an elective course. I have said the Believer is not powerless because he doesn’t pray we received power when the Holy ghost came into us, however that power is only channelled through the instrumentality of Prayer. Therefore like a light bulb whose switch is put off, so is a believer with light but the switch off because he/she doesn’t pray.
Prayer allows us to partner with God to bring his will upon the earth, it releases heavens resources for us, angels are deployed and the Miraculous occurs.
It’s through times of prayer that your faith really begins to affect your life and make an impact on those you encounter. Jude.1.20 – But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
As we pray in the HolyGhost, we are being built up, from one level to the other, like a skyscraper being built, when you come across it in the initial stages it doesn’t look like much but after a while, you begin to see it tower above every other building, it’s now a wonder to behold! This is how we build ourselves with prayer!
Many people ask me how they can pray more, simply pray! It’s like a habit as you stay there consistently, you build more capacity and are able to pray better. A believer that wants to see power and results has to cultivate the habit of praying. This starts by having tines of prayer, and being disciplined to have such times, Jesus did it, the Apostles did it, and the early church did it.
As believers, we’re told in God’s Word to pray earnestly. A proclamation of faith is praying earnestly. For what Jesus did at the cross we declare them in prayer forming a partnership with God, consciously acknowledging that God is not the problem but the solution.
If our loved one is oppressed, sick, or afflicted, we declare in faith healing and deliverance for we know that Jesus has paid the price on the cross. This is what God wants us to do – pray earnestly. Luke.18.1 – Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
