SHINE AS LIGHTS

SHINE AS LIGHTS

“that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world”

Phil. 2:15

You may have at one point as yourself why we are still here, why didn’t we just leave after salvation?  There will be no need to pay these bills! Right? Anyone would wish for that. However, we must recognize the purpose for which we are still here, as it defines our existence here on earth.

Isa.60.2 – For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Isa.60.3 – The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Darkness covers the earth, our anchor scripture called it a crooked and perverse generation, yet in its midst we shine, because the Glory of the Lord is seen upon us, both Gentiles and kings come to our light, can you now see how important our presence here is? God still needs us here; that kings are not better than us, for we have become even king and Priest to the Lord. He wants to use you and I to shine the light of the knowledge of His glory for all to see and come to Him.

By shining as Lights, we point others towards Christ and His Finished works on the cross for them, we show forth the praises of him who translated us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God’s dear Son. We reveal the life of Christ which is now our life.

The Bible, therefore, admonishes that we shine as lights because the world will try to oppose us, The Bible says they loved the darkness in John.3.19 – And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.

Now that we know that we are here to shine as believers, how can we shine and reign?

As believers, we must grow in the knowledge of God’s word and we must be bold in our Confession.  Don’t try to dim your light or attempt to fit in, You are already too obvious! The Apostle Peter was too unique, though denying Jesus after being with him, some people could still see the resemblance.

The World needs our light to shine and it’s not a little light you must let shine, it’s a great light that must flood the world.
