For He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. )

1 Peter 3:10-11

This topic of Faith, Confession and Action cannot be exhausted. Although, this culture has become so talked about in so many local assemblies, but so many believers are yet to live and manifest this lifestyle. Many believers have actually casualized this culture and make it seem like a “Fable”. You would randomly hear Believers say things like “No be by mouth!” and so many other slangs to down talk the effect of Faith. So, I ask, is this lifestyle of Faith and Confession just a Fairytale, a modern theory, or a motivation? Or is it indeed more than that? How realistic and dependable is this culture?

Taking a cue from Our anchor scripture this morning, Apostle peter admonishes the brethren to refrain their tongues from evil and speaking deceit if they love life and would love to experience good days. The tongue is like a projector for your heart, the only way we can see through people’s intention and thought, is when they speak out. The believer’s heart is where the spirit of God dwells, and at such every form of information and conviction is birthed in the heart. One won’t be wrong to compare the Heart to a personal computer; it is the spiritual workplace and store house of information, ideas, and conversations. The heart is where faith is built and as good representatives of God’s kingdom, we all constantly work on our hearts, but when it is time to pitch our presentation and display our ideas to the “board of directors”; in order to get the ideas converted to a product, we need the aid of a projector to magnify the images on our personal computers. In a similar way, when conviction and faith is built up in the believer’s heart, there is only one way to find out; The believer confidently and constantly, Speaks It!

Speaking shows how “sold out” you are to the thoughts you hold on your inside, additionally, the corresponding action, gesture and body pose you give to your words, shows how convinced you are on the

Idea you are selling. In communication, it is called Non-verbal communication. Looking back to the anchor scripture, it also supports this claim, it says “let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it”. So, according to apostle peter, it is not enough to guard the tongue, there is a “doing” attached to it.

Dear believer you’re admonished to be more intentional about your confession even in this period, make sure to give corresponding action to your words, that is the lifestyle of faith. Don’t be caught up in negative trends and be tempted to use your tongue loosely, your words have power because He that dwells in you is the “Power House”. Create your reality with your words and live in it.Dear brethren, the same spirit that dwells in Christ dwells in us, so pls, “Speak it and Live it!”

DECLARATION: I live in the reality of all my confessions. My lifestyle aligns with my predominant confessions shaped by the word. The word shapes my thought, my thoughts shape my words, and my words shape my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
