SPIRITUAL GROWTH

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Philippians 2:13

Have you ever wondered why we didn’t just go to heaven after believing the Gospel or after receiving the Holy Spirit?

This explains that our growth is very important to God. This also explained that we’ve received the Spirit of God for us to grow, God doesn’t just want us to receive the Spirit of God, He wants us to grow through the Spirit and the gospel. 2 Peter1:8 … the spirit of God in us will bear the fruits and will make it abound when this is effectual, it signifies GROWTH!!!

Man sees the outward man, God sees the spirit man and he sees us as holy and righteous but our light needs to shine for all men to see and Glorify God …. THIS IS WHY GROWTH IS REQUIRED.

There’s a reason why he left you on earth even after you believed and confessed him as your Lord, that’s because God desires us to grow up spiritually and reach the lost with his love.

Spiritual things are very slippery, which means as you know the word of God and apply it to your day-to-day activities, the word begins to shape us into the image of God and we experience growth. The key to growth is by searching for ourselves in the word because we are in the word. The word presents our authentic reality.

There are three categories of men; Natural man – A man who is not born again i.e A man who doesn’t believe in the gospel. Carnal man – A man who is born again but he’s still a babe, He is sensual. A man that doesn’t apply the word in His day-to-day activities. A carnal man relates with himself on a sensual note and the realities in Christ are abstract to him. Spiritual man- A man that is born again and has grown spiritually. The spiritual man relates himself with God’s word. He believes in the Spirit of God, He knows his realities in Christ.

To a carnal man seeing is believing and sees the future through his own ability but to a spiritual man believing is seeing. 2Pet.3.18 – but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

The first way to begin to emulate Jesus is in our minds, We grow by the word and by fellowship with the Father. Rom.12.2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

CONFESSION: I CONFESS THAT I BECOME ROOTED IN GOD’S WORD AND I SEE MYSELF THE WAY GOD SEES ME, GROWING IN GRACE AND INCREASING IN STATURE.

This really hit deep. What stood out for me is that I don’t know myself if I don’t know the word and searching myself in the word is the key to growth. 🙇🏽‍♀️🙏🗣️
