The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

(Matthew 25:21)

The scripture here shines the light on a servant, whose faithfulness triggered his master’s reward and appreciation towards his excellent service. Jesus was using this teaching to educate his disciples about God’s reward system. If man in his imperfections operates systems that reward diligence and hard work, how much more God?

Heb.11.6 – But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

God is a rewarder! Man may be selfish and hard to impress but we will shortchange ourselves if we hold God to that same view! You must realise that every of your service and commitment to God will not go unnoticed, this will cause you to break out from a place of work, self-efforts in trying to please a “God” that is difficult to please. Phil.2.13 – for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

I know we’ve been told many times how the Christian life is a narrow path and a difficult, maybe an impossible one, oh emphatically Yes when you do it in your strength! it’s Assuring to know that the ability to live it out is by God’s Spirit in us, God’s ability in us helps to steward his call on our lives.

1Cor.15.10 – But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

This now becomes our disposition,  to labour more abundantly with the grace we have been bestowed!

Dear Believers, to whom all is given, much is expected. Rise up to your task and serve diligently. Rise up to that call of the ministry that you have been charged with. God’s assignment should not be placed on hold but should be factored into every aspect of your life. Let your impact bring souls to the gospel. As you run around your business actively, shine the light of God and make Christ known even as you perform your daily activity. Remember God’s reward system is as sure as every of his promise you’ve seen and experienced.
