Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

It’s not shocking to see false doctrines being peddled among growing believers, swaying them to believe that how they conduct themselves doesn’t matter, they can live as they wish now that they’ve been saved. Those of us who believe in the gospel have been accused of preaching such a message, which is OK, even Apostle Paul was accused of the same. Its however worthy of note that the Gospel we preach is the one that saves men, The works of men will never save them only grace can, now when they are saved, their good works is a proof of the experience they have received.

Let your conduct be worthy of the Gospel of Christ, we are admonished to labour even more abundantly with the grace we have received.
We do not conduct ourselves righteously because we want to earn righteousness, we do so because we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Our conduct is what is seen by men and in reaching them we must show forth the praises of him who brought to life from death.
Rom.13.13 – Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.
Rom.13.14 – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lusts.

Our conduct do matter, the great news is that the ability to live the life of God is resident in us now, it’s no longer excruciating labour in trying to be good but now a yieldedness to the leading of the Spirit.

Gal.5.25 – If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Our conduct is most often reflected in our walk, that is how we go about our activities, this includes our digital footprints (posts we like, pages we follow, comments and tweets we put out etc.) We live in the Spirit and we must walk in the Spirit. This is how we can live lives that attract men to the gospel we preach.
