THE GOSPEL IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.1 John 3.14
Loving the brethren is the default for the believer as well as loving the lost as well. Rom.5.5 – Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
We have God’s love in us, we must therefore love the way God loves, not the way the world talks about love but the way the Word talks about love. Our relationships are a great part of our lives and they have great influences on us, if we want to do well for ourselves and our relations, we must let the love of God rule us. We don’t allow emotions or philosophy and ideas of men to influence us, we have been called to Love; walking in love. By doing this, our relationships will prosper and become more and more heavenlike.
Phil.1.9-11 – And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,-that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, – being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Our love abound more and more will cause us to walk in knowledge and discernment, we will be able to discern the intent of people and know how to love them better as we ought to.
We are to bear fruits in our relationships, the spiritual man is a relationship expert, we don’t handle relationships with carelessness or disregard, we are people of honour, and we must therefore give honour to our relationship.
1Pet.3.8 – Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;1Pet.3.9 – not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing
Our relationship with ourselves and with the lost is paramount and important to God, it must be important to us as well. We must seek ways by which we can continue to foster our relationship and be a blessing to one another.

Confession: Lord, thank you for the relationships in my life, I give more attention to them, walking in love and not giving any place to strife or hurt that I may strengthen the brethren and win the lost.
