THE INFLUENCE OF THE GOSPEL
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.Romans 1:16
There are certain people who claim to be ‘Christian influencers’ but there is no difference in what they put out; I am not saying Christians shouldn’t be shrewd in how we deliver the Gospel to people but we must not think our strength is in our strategy rather than the Gospel itself. The Gospel can influence and transform the life of a person, a family, a community and even a nation and the world at large.
There is the “Power of the Gospel” and it is such a potent force!
The Gospel is so powerful, much powerful that any flaw, idiosyncrasies, addiction e.t.c. The Gospel is powerful! If we would just let people know about what they get by accepting the gospel, we won’t need many of the theatrics we employ. I have seen addictions broken, genotypes changed, brain performance improved, and character refined and developed just by believing this gospel.
So, therefore, there’s a way we as ambassadors of Christ are expected to wield this influence to cause a rippling effect in our spheres of influence. As we imbibe and live out the culture of the scriptures, men should be affected by our culture. Influencers seek especially to affect culture, whether consciously or unconsciously, some people will not say certain words but they can sing it, some people dress how their favourite celebrities look e.t.c.
As we open men to the power of the Gospel, it transforms them after the manner of man God has called them to be. It’s not about a behavioural modification but the inward transformation that modifies our behaviour, that subscribes us to the God-life and culture of scriptures
2 Corinthians 3:18 – But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
