THE INFLUENCE OF THE SPIRIT

THE INFLUENCE OF THE SPIRIT

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts.1.8

It’s sad that the worst lie the devil has perpetrated is to make most people ignorant of the Holy Spirit and his work in the believer. For a long time, the church was ignorant of this, with lies such as “The move of the Spirit ended with the first apostles, the Holy Spirit only comes at his own will, the believer needs to tarry to get the Holy Spirit, only Church leaders and some select few can receive the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues/ praying in the Holy Ghost is what the Holy Spirit Himself determines and He gives it to whomsoever HE wants to give it to” these lies were perpetrated for a long time and kept the church bound, thank God for various moves and men that reintroduced the Spirit and His personality back to the church.  The Holy Spirit is one significant mention in our Christian faith, as a matter of fact, no other religion boasts of such.

Doing the Christian Faith without the Holy Spirit is like making Christianity just another religion. Jesus will therefore instruct the disciples to wait for the Spirit’s coming and here’s the good news since He came, He has never left!

The Spirit has been poured out just as it was prophesied in Joel.2.28 – “And it shall come to pass afterwards That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

We are now in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit and we must allow Him to work through us to do the work of the Father.

John.7.38 – He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

John.7.39 – But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The influence of the Spirit in the believer can be likened to rivers of living water.

We must corporate with the Spirit to bring about this influence in every area of our life.

CONFESSION: I believe, and I confess, that as a believer, I experience an increased measure of the Spirit’s influence. The supernatural is made tangible in my walk. Amen.
