THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL

THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Romans 1:16

One of the powerful lessons we have learned is that ” The same Gospel that saves is the same one that grows the believer”. Sadly, some of us are in a rut thinking that we are to work this out ourselves like the power of the Gospel stopped at their salvation and now we are to work out the transformation,  you know which other kind of people thought like this? The Galatian church!

Gal.1.6-8 – I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

Can you imagine these people, right?  Well some of us are being just like them when we allow another “gospel” that turns all the focus back to our works and efforts rather than the grace of Jesus Christ.

Gal.3.3 – Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Gal.3.5 – Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?–

The Gospel is so powerful, much more powerful than any flaw, idiosyncrasies, addiction e.t.c.

It’s the power of God unto salvation, the Greek word for salvation is Soteria, from the root word Sozo which means saved, rescue, deliver. Soteria (Salvation) in its full meaning includes restoration, soundness, health, and well-being as well as preservation.

If you have therefore believed in Christ for salvation, let it be it to this fullness not just the saving of your souls from damnation. You received an Eternal Package!

The Gospel is powerful! If we would just let people know about what they get by accepting the gospel, we won’t need many of the theatrics we employ. I have seen addictions broken, genotypes changes, brain performance improved, and character refined and developed just by believing this gospel. Let the power of the Gospel course through your every life and see the difference it does.

Col.2: 6-7 – As you, therefore, have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
