UNASHAMED

UNASHAMED

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

 Romans 5:5

There are a lot of things you possibly might be ashamed of, wrong choices, not-so-great past, body shaming, social class and so on. But guess what? No longer should you be ashamed. Christ took away your shame and guilt when he died on the cross. The Gospel is the good news, the hope for today and the strength for tomorrow. The moment you received Christ, you received the Holy Ghost, who comes with boldness. It’s a total package.

Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Shame is not in your DNA. Jesus has freed you from the shackles of shame. 2 Timothy 1.6-7 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. There’s a confidence that knowing the greater one lives inside of you brings.

Paul said ‘I am not ashamed of the Gospel’. In the same vein, we also must be. Hebrews 11.16 says ‘But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.’ God is proud to call you his own, you must also be proud and bold to declare his name. Don’t be ashamed to share the truth, to stand for the truth and to boast in the truth. As a follower of Jesus, you must always have an overwhelming desire to share Christ with others and live differently. Have a desire for others to see Jesus in you and live a life that reveals the power of the gospel

The unadulterated Gospel calls us to transcend our fear and embarrassment and to boldly confess before men and women that Jesus Christ is Lord. It may mean we will be ridiculed. It may mean that we will be persecuted. It may mean we will lose our jobs. But what did the Gospel cost our Lord? No matter what the world does to us, we must never be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; for it is the Gospel alone that saves us, transforms us, and gives us hope and a future.
