Unseen Realities

Unseen Realities

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Cor.4.18

This has to be the greatest dilemma in our world today, that people are so out of touch with the realities that exist beyond this world. There are some who however know this and go about in the most desperate ways to make contact with the world beyond, through spiritism, occultism etc and this has been very costly.

You must be familiar with this phrase by now “life is spiritual”.  Many have been wrongly educated to believe anything unseen to be unreal, nothing can be further from the truth. There are already natural things in our world that validate that unseen doesn’t mean unreal.  When we talk about love, feeling and emotions, mind, and thoughts they are all unseen, yet not only do we believe them to be real concepts we know and are sure they are real. Yet believers are seen as spooky for believing in the ability of God and indwelling of the Spirit, which is even something that is tangible to us. We can’t see the Holy Ghost in our hearts but we believe and know that we’ve got His presence in there. Such that on the days we feel like He is there and those days when we don’t feel He is there or days when we don’t feel close to God at all, it changes nothing because we know that our feeling or lack of it doesn’t validate or invalidate an unseen reality. You may not feel like you’re already born again but can I submit to you that being born again has nothing to do with how you feel? It’s a faith thing, my dear friend. You know it first, then later the feeling follows. Have you heard the gospel? Did you act on the word you heard in the gospel?  The gospel says “if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9-10). Do you agree that Jesus came to the world truly, do you agree that He died and the purpose of His death according to the scriptures is to be a propitiation for your sin and that of the rest of the world? Then you’ve got it. This is what the bible means as believing in your heart, it’s not talking about a feeling of weeping, repenting or even ecstasy. Faith is acknowledging what’s in the word, and faith is an invisible reality.

“The things we see are temporary but the things not seen are eternal” as the scripture tells us, there are Unseen realities and they transcend the realms of our five senses.

Heb.11.3 – By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things that are visible.

Give this a thought, that spoken words are not seen, yet they can cause such an impact on their hearers and even in the case of God, words bring to reality. Don’t forget, we already said invisible things have little or nothing to do with feeling. Gravity is real irrespective of how you feel standing on your balcony. Hopefully, that fellow will not jump out of presumption.

Confession: By the Holy Ghost, I declare that my confidence in unseen realities get stronger as I give myself to God’s Word and I am seeing the result of functioning supernaturally. Hallelujah.
