YOUR HERITAGE

YOUR HERITAGE

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called sons of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

1John.3.1

Child of God! I hope that you had a leap in you as you read it? This is a reality that we must let dawn on us, we are children of God! It’s our Heritage.

You may have noticed some ladies who get married and can only add their husbands name to their maiden names, this is because their maiden names have an heritage in it. It means something to them that although customary they ought to bear their husband’s name, their maiden name still holds a level of great importance to them and because of this they can’t drop it.

Being regarded as a “Child of God” is not out of style, its not cliché, its not a title, it is an identity and a reality we must come to live in.

Heritage is defined as a birthright; a status acquired by birth, especially of but not exclusive to the firstborn.

1John.3.9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (NKJV)

We are born of God, we are children of God and this count for so much. This reality should rule your consciousness the next time the devil comes to make you feel unworthy, guilty, doubtful, rejected. Be secured in the consciousness that you are a child of God. Do not go around second guessing the Father’s love for you or your place is in Him. Live in the consciousness that you are His child, He cares for you.

Gal.4.6 – And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

You have intimacy with the Father and access to Him because you believe in Jesus.

Recognizing your heritage will have an impact on your character, conduct and mindset. It will be surprising to see a Prince fighting in a restaurant or talking like a commoner, such conduct is not one associated with a rich heritage.  Now you are a Child of God, this means you share the identity of your Father, there are things that run in the family, don’t excuse it. In whatever area of your life that is inconsistent with the heritage you have in God, allow God’s word to have an effect on such.

You have an Heritage in God.
